Countdown To New Shuttle Launch Time

Countdown To New Shuttle Launch Time

NASA has announced the latest Space Shuttle news, after the first launch attempt for the Endeavour was cancelled due to low cloud over the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The launch has been re-scheduled for tomorrow, Monday 8 February at 4.14am, EST.

The STS-130 mission to the International Space Station, will be led by Commander George Zamka and piloted by Terry Virts who will be making his initial journey into space. They will both be accompanied by other Mission Specialists.

The Endeavour will be transporting, along with other things, a third connecting module. At least 3 spacewalks are also planned for the mission.

Endeavour was first flown in 1992 and replaced the Challenger shuttle which was lost in an accident. It is due to be decommissioned later in the year. We can only hope that this latest mission runs smoothly and safely. For full story and countdown details, click on the NASA link.
